DESCRIPTION:Research Topic: gainsta Derived Peptide-Antimicrobial Activity 
 of URS Klebsiella pneumoniae\nAbstract: ** Lecture will be given in Englis
 h**\nThe increasing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant Klebsiella pneumoni
 ae highlights the need for novel antimicrobial strategies. This study inve
 stigated the antibacterial potential of peptides derived from underreprese
 nted sequences (URSs)\, examining both extracellular application and intra
 cellular expression. For this purpose\, a stable inducible expression syst
 em was first developed in K. pneumoniae to enable controlled intracellular
  peptide expression.\nThe antimicrobial activity of the URS-derived peptid
 e RLLRRCMYW was evaluated against capsulated and non-capsulated K. pneumon
 iae\, both alone and in combination with conventional antibiotics. In para
 llel\, an inducible expression system was developed to investigate the eff
 ects of intracellular expression of CMYW-based peptides. Extracellular app
 lication of the peptide inhibited bacterial growth\, while combination tre
 atments produced greater inhibition than either treatment alone. Intracell
 ular expression of CMYW-based peptides resulted in a substantial reduction
  in bacterial viability .\nThese findings demonstrate the antimicrobial po
 tential of URS-derived peptides and support further investigation of their
  mechanisms of action and development as a novel class of antimicrobial ag
 ents.
