We have wonderful news to mark International Women’s Day today – PhD candidate Adi Shalem, from the laboratory of Prof. Ayelet Fishman, has been awarded a prestigious scholarship.
Adi received this special scholarship in recognition of her outstanding academic achievements and excellence throughout her studies – from graduating with highest honors in her undergraduate studies, continuing through her M.Sc., after which she advanced to the direct PhD track. During her master’s studies, she was awarded two scholarships and presented her research at several conferences.
Adi’s research focuses on enzymatic plastic degradation, a field of great environmental importance. Recently, she published a review article that has received many citations and has also contributed to additional scientific papers. In addition, Adi was selected as an outstanding teaching assistant and contributes her abilities and skills to many activities within the faculty.
