We are proud of Prof. Marcelle Machluf and Prof. Uri Lesmes, who were featured last week in two compelling articles on innovation in biotech and foodtech.
At the upcoming NANO.IL 2026 conference, to be held in Jerusalem on March 8-10, Prof. Machluf will present the groundbreaking Nano-Ghosts technology developed in her lab. These are stem cells emptied of their contents and repurposed as smart drug carriers that release their payload inside the tumor rather than in the bloodstream. The technology shows promising results in crossing the blood-brain barrier (BBB), long considered one of the major challenges in treating brain cancer.

In Haaretz Magazine last weekend, Prof. Lesmes offers an insightful perspective on allulose, a novel sugar substitute generating both excitement and debate. He notes early indications that while allulose is not metabolized by the human body, it may nourish beneficial gut bacteria, and suggests it can be used in moderation as part of a diverse diet.
