In her role as the laboratory engineer of Prof. Ayelet Fishman, working in the laboratory of Professor Emeritus Yuval Shoham, and as the course coordinator and lead instructor of the course Biological Reactors Laboratory”, Smadar leads independent research, writes research grant proposals and scientific papers, develops technological processes, and mentors generations of students and researchers. Many industry professionals and academics regard her as a central professional address, and she is widely considered an authority – and a recognized name -in the field of fermentation.
