Today, the world marks International Women’s Day. In our faculty, we celebrate women every day. Here are just a few reasons why:
♀️ Our faculty is among the leading units at the Technion in the integration of women – across the student body and within the academic, research, and administrative staff.
♀️ The percentage of women in our faculty is significantly higher than the Technion average across engineering faculties, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
♀️ One third of our academic faculty members are women.
♀️ The Dean of the Faculty is Prof. Ester Segal.
♀️ Prof. Segal continues a strong line of female leadership in this role since 2017, following Prof. Marcelle Machluf and Prof. Sima Yaron.
♀️ All but one of our laboratory engineers are women.
♀️ Our Head of Administration is Liat Retter, who has served in this role since 2011. She was preceded by another woman, Shlomit Livni.
We are proud of the remarkable female leadership and presence in our faculty, and we remain committed to strengthening and advancing this momentum – not only today, but every day.
