Vision
The Carasso FoodTech Innovation Center is a pioneering, professional, and holistic hub for FoodTech and BioTech. By promoting science, industry collaboration, and community engagement, the Center catalyzes the development of sustainable technologies and health-enhancing innovations that benefit both society and the planet.
Mission
The Center’s mission is to advance education, research, innovation, and outreach within the food and biotechnology sectors. It supports students and faculty, as well as startups, companies, and the wider community, by offering direct access to cutting-edge technologies, pilot-scale production environments, and advanced analytical capabilities. Serving as a one-stop interface for R&D partners, the Center not only provides in-house services but also connects clients with Technion - wide expertise and infrastructure. This integrated approach bridges academia and industry, accelerating the translation of ideas into real-world, scalable solutions.
Goals
- Hands-on Education and Training – Provide optimal learning opportunities for engineering students and training with real-world pilot-scale FoodTech processes and equipment.
- Support Research – Support academic and industry-driven research by offering (small) pilot-scale process capabilities, comprehensive analytical support, and collaborative development environments.
- Industry & Startup Support – Support product and process innovation for startups, SMEs, and corporations by providing services such as small-scale pilot trials, advanced analytics, and streamlined access to Technion’s ecosystem of services and experts.
- Community Outreach – Host seminars, training programs, and public engagement events to promote knowledge transfer, acceptance of novel food systems, and cross-sector collaboration.
