What a remarkable day at FOODTECH 2040!
The FOODTECH 2040 conference, held this week at our Faculty, was a truly exciting, joyful, and inspiring event that left everyone wanting more!
Researchers from Israel and around the world, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and innovation leaders came together for a day dedicated to exploring the future of food, while honoring the remarkable achievements and scientific contributions that have shaped the field over the years, as we celebrated the 90th birthday of Prof. Emeritus Shimon Mizrahi.
Our heartfelt thanks to Prof. Yuval Garini, Technion Vice President for Innovation and Industry Relations,
and Prof. Ester Segal, Dean of our Faculty, for opening the conference.
Thank you to Prof. KIERAN TUOHY from the University of Leeds for a fascinating and insightful lecture
exploring the connection between the food we eat and the activity of our gut microbiome.
Special thanks to Prof. Yoav Livney for his comprehensive tribute to Prof. Emeritus Shimon Mizrahi,
highlighting more than five decades of remarkable contributions to science, food engineering, academia, and Israeli industry.
We also thank Dr. Dr. Michael Uzzan (Ph.D) for his insights into innovation in the beverage industry,
and Prof. Emeritus Amos Nussinovitch for presenting environmentally friendly solutions in agriculture.
