Prof. Yoav Livney: ” The Technion Center for sustainable protein research (SPRC) hosted a Community Buildup Workshop last week. Researchers from different Technion faculties and other institutes (Volcani Center, Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research, MIGAL, Tel Hai Collage)
took part in this first-of-a-kind event.
The workshop included scientific presentations of innovative solutions in alternative proteins, and two startups in the field of cultivated meat, stemming from the Technion, presented their work (Meatafora, Mealiways). The researchers also heard about funding opportunities and got familiarized with the range of Technion infrastructure in the field. Round tables to discuss grand challenges and 1:1 meetings to nucleate further research closed the workshop.”
