One lab. Two researchers. Two conferences. Two awards for excellence!
September was a month marked by excellence, especially in Dr. Dan Bracha’s lab.
Nikol Gelman, a master’s student in the lab, traveled to Denmark to represent the Faculty at an international EMBO workshop on autophagy.
She presented research exploring how cells selectively remove parts of the endoplasmic reticulum, using a light-controlled system to investigate how this process is initiated – and received the FEBS Letters Poster Prize.
And the excellence didn’t stop there. Also in September, PhD candidate Jiayi Fang presented her research at the annual conference of the Israeli Society for Synthetic Biology. Her work examines how phase separation may help shape gene activity in cancer cells – and she also received a Best Poster Award.
