Next Bite: Opportunity Night

30 June 2026

What an inspiring evening of innovation, entrepreneurship, and great ideas!

Yesterday, “Next Bite: Opportunity Night”, held at the Carasso FoodTech Innovation Center by FoodForward – Israel’s Food Hub, brought together researchers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, investors, government representatives, and startups from across Israel’s foodtech ecosystem.

The evening opened with welcome remarks by Prof. Yuval Garini, Vice President for Innovation and Industry Relations at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, and Prof. Uri Lesmes, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering.
This was followed by an engaging panel discussion, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Boaz Mizrahi, featuring Prof. Marcelle Machluf, Yotam Zach from the Ministry of Economy and Industry, Dr. Anat Solomon, Ph.D, MBA from the CORE by CBC Group, and Dr. Tammy Meiron, Ph.D. from FRESH START FoodTech Incubator IL. Together, they explored the future of foodtech innovation, commercialization, and entrepreneurship.
The spotlight then shifted to five promising startups pitching their technologies to a panel of judges and potential investors. Kokomodo, Ambrosia Bio, Casenova, Deligene, and Kiinns all delivered outstanding presentations, making the judges’ decision anything but easy.
Congratulations to Kokomodo, the winning startup, which was awarded ₪35,000 to support its continued development at the Carasso FoodTech Innovation Center.
While the judges deliberated, four Technion researchers presented commercialization-ready technologies, identified by T3 – Technion Technology Transfer, and invited entrepreneurs to help bring them to market. The presentations featured Assoc. Prof. Guy Mechrez, Prof. Yoav Livney, Prof. Avi Schroeder, and Prof. Boaz Pokroy.
The evening concluded with networking and refreshments on the Innovation Center’s pilot production floor, where conversations and new collaborations continued long after the formal program had ended.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
