When the person leading the beer production project in the course “Laboratory for Bioprocess and Biomaterials Engineering”
is a PhD student (Kayan Awawdeh) from your own lab – it only makes sense that the lab brews its own beer… 🍺
What began before the war as a mysterious project in the lab of our Dean, Prof. Ester Segal – crafting a boutique American Pale Ale named Zorbeer (in honor of Zorba, the beloved dog of Matan Atias, an MSc student in the lab) – reached a celebratory finish last Thursday.
The occasion was marked with a cheerful “cheers” – and a well-deserved moment to appreciate that the project was not only completed, but also enjoyed.
And for those wondering – a blind tasting settled it unanimously: the beer turned out excellent – flavorful and high quality.
