Non-adaptive group testing for COVID-19: a practical perspective

In mid-March 2020, with the onset of the first lockdown in Israel, we started to implement a non-adaptive group testing method for detecting SARS-CoV-2 carriers. Starting from validation experiments and clinical screening, followed by an approval by the Israeli Ministry of Health and operational work in Israeli virology labs. We describe this project that combines theory application and a myriad of practical issues encountered in real life.
